where are all the medical assistant jobs?

I’m a CMA. I have a good job with a laboratory that does drug testing.
With this economy, I’ve seen the classifieds and online employment searches. It’s hard. MA’s don’t make a whole lot, I’ll admit.
The good thing about it is that we can branch out into something else, whether it’s a medical secretary, working in coding and billing, transcription, working a desk in a doctor’s office, because we were pretty much trained in all that, not just the clinical stuff, which gives us a pretty broad playing field as far as finding a job.
Like I said, I have a great job, I also get paid a lot more than a regular CMA would in a Dr’s office. I actually get paid more than an LPN.
The jobs are out there for you. But they may not necessarily be medical assistant jobs.
