i am a certified medical assistant but im not happy with the pay. most of the chocies i have to do in the medical field would be around 4 years of schooling. but i’ve ask some people if they would recommend there jobs and alot of them said they like there jobs but the pay is not what they expect and i’d be better off going to school an extra 2 years and just become a medical doctor. i have an associates degree from a vo-tech school. What do i need to do to be able to get into med school?

Yes, I know it is better to have a degree, but is there a huge difference between the two? I looked up the annual salary the city I live in and it was about $45,000, I’m sure that is the salary for someone with an Associates Degree. What is the annual salary for someone with a certificate? Any help would be appreciated!

I need a career change. One of the things I was curious about is becoming a medical assistant. I’ve always liked the atmosphere in doctor’s offices and because the only time I’ve been in the hospital was to have my babies I always had a great feeling in hospitals. Even with all the trips to the ER with the kids. The description at one of the trade schools said that if you wanted to work in the medical field but couldn’t or wouldn’t be able to do “blood” which I can’t then that would be the best bet. Dealing with the admin part of the medical field. I think I might really like it. But tell me, what is the degree you get from a trade school offering “medical assistant” educational courses. Is it an associates degree or is it a ceritificate. Also, what seems to be the salary for this position, I’m sure it varies state to state but an idea. And lastly anyone in this position that can give me some feedback? Medical assistants in hospitals vs. private offices etc.?
