Salary is a function of training and demand. If you live in an area that has a shortaged of trained MA’s and a demand for them, then your in luck. If you live in an area were there are more MA’s than demand-your luck ran out.
Setting is another factor. Working in a skilled nursing facility, clinic, or hospital can make a difference in your pay.
Lastly, what skills you have and are able to do also makes a difference in your pay. Putting it another way, the more ways they can use you the more valuable you are as an employee. Consequently, your in a better position to get better pay.
In Minnesota. A hospital based MA would start in the $12.00 hour range. Clinic would be slightly lower. Sorry, no information available for skilled nursing facility.
