Can a Medical Assistant give injections if they aren’t certified?
JC asked:
I work for a medical practice that has employed only Medical Assistants for their nursing staff. Out of 4 MA’s, only one is certified. But, those that have not been certified have had extensive on the job training. Can they legally administer injections?

It depends on the laws of your state. If you are working for a physician in their office and they can show documentation that you have been trained to give an injection, then in most areas, as long as the doctor is physically present in the building, you are working under his license and do not require one.
