are there any “medical assistant” fields that are flexible and make good money?

Okay, before you ridicule me here, I ALREADY know that choosing english as a major is not gonna get me far, so I have to start planning a new career path for after I graduate with this degree.

My question is, do medical assistants make a lot of money? What courses/schools do they have to attend? And is the job flexible? Flexibility will be important to me, because I also want a job in the entertainment industry.

Here is the info on Med Assistants:
The job is not flexible – you are assisting a doctor so you need to be there when he/she is, which usually means 8-5 every day.
medical assistants do not make a huge amount of money, and they generally just work in the office environments. If you’re wanting to have more places to work at, either go with your CNA (certified nursing assistant), LPN (licensed practical nursing), PA (physician assistant) or something like that. Medical assistants don’t make as much money, as the other ones that I have listed.
As an english major you can still get your teacher’s certificate and teach english. You would make more money that way then working as a MA. Someone stated something about being a CNA. CNA work you will never exceed 11.00 an our, depending on what state you live in. I am in the south now but I have been up and down the west coast and that’s about as high as you will go.
You might look at something in the office of home health agency were you can work from home or be on call. Maybe get a business certficate and you are looking more at 35,000 a year starting.
